Virtual Goalie Training System utilizes an Oculus Rift to support lacrosse goalies in enhancing their form, shot recognition, save percentage, and receiving real-time coaching feedback.

The Virtual Goalie app serves as the control center for managing personal settings, drills, courses, and visualizing shot data. Additionally, it generates authentication tokens for accessing the Oculus simulation environment.

• Simulated Environment: By merging Oculus Rift with our software, users are transported into an immersive virtual playing field, enabling them to practice arcs and saves with position cues.
• Drills: Defined by various parameters such as distance range, speed range, angle of attack range, and target area of the goal. Drills help in targeting weaknesses and improving skills like reading bouncers.
• Courses: Structured as a series of drills to guide users through a learning progression. For instance, the Warm-up course includes drills like stick side high, off-hand high, stick side low, off-hand low, and everywhere.
• Coaching Feedback: Offers insights into form accuracy such as hand positioning and response to different shots. The system alerts users to incorrect techniques to aid skill enhancement.
• Data Analysis: Provides real-time data analytics for users to assess strengths and weaknesses comprehensively. Features like shot maps visually illustrate areas needing improvement and save percentage by speed graphs highlight performance metrics.
